the Damned/Dead Boys play CBGB's New York USA for the second night and it was the Dead Boys night. The Damned were bugged by technical problems and even the Captain's nurse outfit went unnoticed.  play The Manor Ballroom, Ipswich,  Suffolk tonight.

The Dead Boys come straight outta Cleveland, Ohio and were going under the name of Frankenstein in the early days. They made their world debut on Halloween 75. Halloween became something of a ritual for these bunch of Cleveland terraways coz for years to come they got back together every Halloween to give their brand of dirty doggy style punk a shot in the arm till Stiv's demise. Times were hard when Frankenstein started getting $7.00 bookings in New York and transport was a neccesity. None of the band had cars so they'd nick em from the Cleveland streets just to get there. Before they got arrested for serial auto theft they eventually relocated to the Big Apple in the summer of 1976 playing CBGB's on July 22nd. They reanimated themselves with a name change to the infamous Dead Boys. CBGB's manager Hilly Crystal became their manager and they quickly became the New York answer to the UK's Sex Pistols. play The Bucaneer in Brighton tonight.
